2015 Performers

We welcome and are happy to showcase the following performers at this our 5th Winternights Festival.

Performances by:

Norsewind – Norsewind has been with us since the 1st Winter-Nights Festival. They are not just friends but part of our festival’s family returning every year. They will again feature great Norse and Celtic music. Their influences are our Ancestors which is exactly what this festival is about. Norsewind hails from the hills of Berks County PA. The unique folk music they play will crush you like a hammer! In addition to performing they will have their CD’s available for you to purchase. CD’s include Mead in the Kettle, Odin’s Fierce Divine, Raise the Hammer High, and Guerrilla folk Assault. They again will be helping with, explaining, and sharing Norse celebration ceremonies. While they call PA home they are always welcome to our house, the Nordic House.

The band members are Danjul Norse (vocals/guitar/whistles/mandolin/bass/percussion), Anna (vocals/fiddle/percussion/dancing), Paul (percussion/backround shouts). I believe they my have a 4th member Rich doing percussion Yarr’s. Danjul of Norsewind is looking into an appropriate way to honor the Norns this year’s theme is dedicated to. Something that is respectful of our ancestors and to our ancestors.

Kellianna – a welcome guest last year will be returning to this years festival. Kellianna is an American pagan artist internationally renowned for her powerful performance of song and chant inspired by myth, magic, sacred places and ancient times. With guitar and vocals she brings to life the stories and sagas of the Gods and Goddesses. With frame drum and chant she honors the Earth and the Ancestors via primal drumming and stunning vocals. Kellianna has performed her music and facilitated workshops in 9 countries on 3 continents, with regular visits to Canada, the United Kingdom, and Western Europe.

If we were asked to pick one song that best embodies Vetrnaetr, it would be the “Ancestor’s Song” from Kellianna’s “I Walk with the Goddess” album. Add in “Freya” from this same album and you truly have captured the “Spirits” of this festival. Kellianna will be performing her songs of myth and magic, as well as setting up an area to get to meet and get to know her, talk with you, and offering her CD’s including Lady Moon 2004, I Walk with the Goddess 2007, Elemental 2010, The Ancient Ones 2012, and Traditions 2013.
